Hey guys!
Just got back from camping or a.k.a, mukhayyam! Held at FRIM by the way.
Actually ended at 2.00 PM at school but then after my dad picked me up we went
to go look for a few things.
First day.*
9.00 AM (At
school).
We all
gathered in the downstairs hall after breakfast. We lined up in our camping
groups and waited for the bus; the boys were going to board the first bus so we
girls had to wait for the second bus to come.
While
waiting for the second bus, Teacher Noraini made us say the asma-ul-husna.
Right after we finished, the second bus arrived and we boarded the bus. My
group was the first one to go on.
9.40 AM
(Time of arrival).
With
excitement, we all got off the bus and followed Teacher Noraini on a rocky pathway.
The walk was kind of tricky as for some of us were bringing big bags.
When we all
got to the campsite, we all left our bags near the assemble hall and went down
to the campsite. I looked up and saw that our campsite was called ‘Kem Perah’.
10.00 AM
(Time of camp event starting).
We had a
talk from one of the staff there. His name was Bohari but we could call him
Brother Bo. He gave us a briefing on the place. FRIM’s history, things to do
and things not to do, certain places for certain needs and more.
We all
listened very carefully as we knew that all these information would turn out to
be useful later. It turns out that you can’t even pluck out a leaf from the
trees there; how strict is that rule?
10.30 AM
(The real start).
Brother Bo
finally finished talking. After that, we had to set up our tents. And man was
that a real challenge! The metal bars were tied up, it was so, so very hard to
get the tent out of the bag. The other groups were doing fine while it seemed
like my group was the only one that was suffering from difficulties.
11.00 AM
(Finished setting up tents.)
We finished
setting up the tents. After that activity, we had many more such as jungle
tracking, sewing class and not to forget lunch and Zuhur prayer.
Jungle
tracking involved mosquitos all over your body and cicadas making buzzing
sounds that creep the heck out of you. After jungle tracking my body was full
of mosquito bites and I was scratching all over.
6.00 PM (Fun
time beginsJ.)
We had to
cook dinner! Of course with the help of our facilitators. But yet it was
challenging. Everyone in our group had a job to do. One of our members by the
name of Hana, accidentally hit her finger with the knife while cutting the
spinach.
Because of
that she was excused from doing any work that involves washing or sharp things.
7.00 PM
(Success!)
We finished
cooking and ate. We had sardines, rice and spinach. It was delicious.
After dinner
we all had to clean our pots, trays and materials. The problem was that some of
them were burnt and we had to clean off the burn stains which took an hour to
do.
8.00 PM (After
the washing.)
We prayed
and guess what? Ameera, Najla, Balqis and I still hadn’t bathed! All because we
had to clean off the burn stains. My skin that was on my finger had pealed off because
of the scrubbing, my hijab was totally black too!
After
maghrib prayer, the four of us zoomed off to the toilet for a bath. After that
we ran back to the assemble hall to pray Isha’.
After Isha’
we had other activities such as a short lecture by Mr.Rahman, a lesson on how
to aid your friend when he or she is injured and also had supper.
12.00 AM
(Bed time.)
We all got
into our tents and went to sleep. We soon had to wake up for Hirasah at 3.30
AM-4.00 AM.
So, guys I
think that I’ll continue the next part tomorrow Insha-Allah.
Jzk!
